Most trekkers should allow approximately 4–6 days for a Point Lenana climb, depending on the route and acclimatization schedule. Longer itineraries can provide more time to acclimatize. Technical ascents of Batian and Nelion require longer, specialized itineraries.
Yes. You do not need previous mountaineering experience to climb Point Lenana, but you should have good fitness and prepare properly for altitude and long trekking days. Technical summits such as Batian and Nelion require appropriate climbing experience and skills.
Point Lenana is the trekking summit at 4,985 metres. Batian is Mount Kenya's highest peak at 5,199 metres, while Nelion reaches 5,188 metres. Batian and Nelion are technical climbing objectives and require appropriate mountaineering skills and equipment.
